The OSOD Ophthalmic Specialist is skilled in the use of ophthalmic equipment for ophthalmic data collection on research and study projects. Ophthalmic Specialists are trained by OSOD in ophthalmic procedures for data collection. Examples of ophthalmic procedures are: electroretinography, pachymetry, optical coherence tomography, ophthalmic photography, and noncontact specular microscopy. (List of ophthalmic procedures is not necessarily all inclusive and each employee may not necessarily be trained in every procedure). Ophthalmic Specialists may also be involved in study support activities for other Ophthalmic Specialists.
