Transmission Electron Microscopy

The transmission electron microscope (TEM) images are useful for examining intracellular structures. The magnifications and resolution provided by TEM allows the evaluation of the cellular structure to the level of cellular organelles.

Subtle changes not detectable on light microscopy can be recorded and graded. This additional power can be useful in studies of toxicity and also in studies of pathogenesis or efficacy. Because TEM is a powerful tool, it is important that the user has experience in using it.
